Idu

  • Overview
  • Idu, also known as Idu Industrial, is a rapidly developing district located in the Phase 4 region of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja.

The area is adjacent to one of Abuja's major industrial zones, where a variety of businesses operate, contributing to the local economy. Additionally, Idu hosts a significant rail interchange station, which connects the standard gauge railway line from Abuja to Kaduna with the Abuja light rail system, linking the airport to the Central Area.

Idu benefits from its proximity to both an industrial area and a major railway station, which has led to well-developed infrastructure and ongoing improvements. The district is witnessing a surge in housing developments, with several estates currently under construction, making the “Idu corridor” one of the fastest-growing parts of the city.

Residents have easy access to public services and amenities in Idu. Notable places of interest include the Idu Customary Court, the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, and the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development.

Travelling by car, the Central Business District is reachable in under 30 minutes.

Idu is positioned advantageously within outer Abuja, and its continually improving infrastructure makes it a promising area for real estate investment. Currently, land and property in Idu are relatively affordable compared to other parts of Abuja. However, with the increasing real estate activity and development in the area, property values are expected to rise in the near future.
