Kuje

  • Overview
  • Kuje, located in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Abuja, is a burgeoning suburb within the Kuje Area Council, one of the six councils in the FCT. Situated to the west of Abuja's city center and near the new Centenary City development, Kuje is often referred to as the “food basket of Abuja” due to its abundant greenery and agricultural land.

While Kuje is still developing with various informal settlements present, significant changes are underway. The FCT administration is focused on enhancing infrastructure, and several major housing projects are either underway or in the planning stages. Currently, Kuchiyako stands out as the most developed area within Kuje.

Being located outside the central areas of Abuja, Kuje offers a more affordable living option and presents an attractive opportunity for investors. Its proximity to the Centenary City—a master-planned smart city set to be constructed on over 1,200 hectares of greenfield land—adds to its investment potential.

The district features a vibrant market that offers a wide range of goods and produce, contributing to its lively community atmosphere.

The airport is approximately a 15-minute drive from Kuje, while the central areas of Abuja are about 30 minutes away.

Kuje is currently undergoing rapid development due to its strategic location near key FCT areas such as Abuja city center, the airport, and the Centenary City. This growth has spurred increased housing developments and population growth.

Kuje offers some of the most affordable land and housing options in Abuja. As development progresses both within the district and in the surrounding areas, property values are expected to rise significantly, making Kuje a prime investment opportunity in Abuja and across Nigeria.
